The creative resource

The concept of ‘green design’ may sound esoteric but is in fact based on the simple and sound principle of promoting and encouraging environmental awareness at all stages of communication.

Careful consideration of obvious parameters such as format and material selection can really make a difference but so can issues such as colour, ink coverage, fonts, white space, adhesives and finishing processes. All go to the heart of a well-balanced considered design which can be achieved without compromising quality or innovation.
Crayons
As the internet becomes more sophisticated and universally accessible by all, you can use this medium for the provision of certain types of detailed information that would once have had to be printed regularly. Print is still incredibly important but now you can choose which messages have to be in print at any given time.

At Impact we help you develop the communications brief and plan your design in a way that makes best use of resources and reduces the chance of environmental problems arising later in the process. Naturally we apply these principles to our own working methods too, making maximum use of PDF, FTP and email; by using recycled proofing paper and energy saving equipment; and by recycling our own waster paper, ink cartridges and other consumables.

Impact will:

  • Help you develop a clear, concise design brief
  • Ensure that the technical specification minimises environmental impact without compromising design or your objectives
  • Balance the pros and cons of print and internet options
  • Provide innovative design and artwork services for print and internet
  • Ensure that pre-press waste is minimised
